Try 1 of 5. Or pick a square on the grid.
Colours: how often each score has happened in the Premier League. Faded squares are ruled out. Amber means one goal away.
How to play
Every day brings a new puzzle built on a real Premier League match, usually one played on this date in an earlier season. Monday to Saturday you get the two clubs and the date, and you have five tries to guess the final score. After each guess, arrows tell you whether each side scored more or fewer goals (amber means one goal away), and the grid fades the scores you've ruled out. Miss three times and you'll get the half-time score as a clue. The grid's colours show how often each score has happened, so the rare ones stand out.
On Sundays it's the other way round: you get the score and the date, and you name the home and away sides from that season's clubs. Green is the right club on the right side; yellow is a club that played, but on the other side. Miss twice and you'll see where both clubs finished that season; miss three times and you'll get their initials.
Then comes part 2: one question about the same clubs, such as their points, goals scored or conceded, where they finished, how often they've met, or the score at half-time, with three tries and arrows again (amber means close). The day is scored out of 10: up to 5 for the puzzle (5 for a first-try answer, 1 for the fifth) and up to 5 for part 2 (5, 4 or 3 when exact on the first, second or third try; 2 or 1 if you got close). At the end you'll see how you did against everyone who has played.
A new puzzle arrives at midnight where you are, and your results and streak are saved in this browser. The @pl_gami account posts each puzzle at 12:00 UTC and the answer at 20:00 UTC, so you can guess in the replies too.
